YORK CONTINUES TO RAISE THE BAR ON INVESTMENT IN PFAS EXPERTISE + INSTRUMENTATION.
After several years running one of New England’s premier laboratories, Krys Trafalski has returned to York Analytical to lead efforts in the Queens/NYC facility. As Laboratory Director, Krys will be responsible for managing the day-to-day and strategic direction for the PFAS Laboratory and Air Analysis operations.
“Recruiting Krys to lead our efforts in Queens at this critical time when PFAS analysis is exploding and new regulations are emerging from all directions is testament to York Analytical’s commitment to continue to raise the bar on PFAS testing operations and remain the region’s go-to PFAS laboratory,” says Michael J. Beckerich, President and CEO.
“In order to equip Krys and his team with the tools to succeed, we have doubled the size of our PFAS laboratory and have created a strong strategic plan to address growing client needs.”
According to Krys Trafalski, “There is no other place I would rather be in our industry than leading York’s PFAS efforts. We continue to commit to equipment, talent, and support that I need to advance this practice because forever chemicals remain front and center in the eyes of environmental advocates and public health regulators.”
A Superior PFAS Technical Team
With the addition of new LC-MS/MS instrumentation, York has invested aggressively to handle escalating needs for testing groundwater, drinking water, and soil.
The fast-evolving new regulations and testing methods being proposed at the federal, state, and local levels require significant senior attention and investment in LCMS-MS supporting systems.
The addition of Krys and other new staff to York’s senior PFAS team led by Robert Bradley, Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer, and Jon Walsh, Chief Technical Officer, will allow York to remain at the forefront of this region’s PFAS mandate.
“Early on we identified PFAS as a critically important new area of focus for the environmental professionals in this region, and invested in a big way to launch NYC’s first and premier PFAS analytical laboratory,” says Robert Bradley. “Our decision to develop the most sophisticated systems, such as Isotope Dilution, before mandates materialized enabled us to lead the industry in identifying and analyzing forever chemicals.”
As concerns of PFAS now hit business and realtor sectors, York has taken a leadership role in educating investor and real estate communities, as part of PFAS and environmental webinars sponsored by Raymond James (story here) and the Hudson Gateway Realtors Association (story here).
