Newtown (CT) Laboratory

YORK has acquired Fairfield County’s Aqua Environmental Lab, Inc. and its Newtown, CT laboratory. This acquisition will help provide vital water quality testing services to homeowners and property owners in the greater New York, Hudson Valley region, and Connecticut. Conveniently located right off of I-84 (the Yankee Expressway), the Newtown Laboratory is just 10 miles east of Danbury, CT. YORK plans to expand the laboratory to accommodate additional water testing capacity.

NY braces for tougher water contaminant rules

The state Department of Environmental Conservation released new guidance Oct. 5 to regulate perfluorooctanoic acid, or PFOA; perfluorooctanesulfonic acid, or PFOS; and 1,4-dioxane to continue protecting public health with increased monitoring of emerging contaminants to ensure New Yorkers have access to clean drinking water.
