3-30-20I continue to wake up at the crack of dawn each day to see what strange and hard challenge awaits me as this putrid virus continues to attack us hard in NYC.Despite the chaos, York Labs has been open and quickly learning how to operate in this new scary environment. With much to protect including a full crew of loyal mates on the York Labs ship, I sleep with one eye open.Like many others, I have turned to music for a much needed perspective in this real-life Groundhog Day scenario we have been operating in.For the last two weeks I’ve been humming and strumming in my head a wonderful John Prine song called “It’s a Big Old Goofy World”. A quick look at the lyrics and you’ll see why…
This John Prine song has been an anthem at the Beckerich house. My kids now know all the words and went from hating the song to liking it… It makes me laugh and keeps a smile on my face.I’ve alternated the song each hour or so with Cher’s “I Got You Babe” and the visual of Bill Murray’s character Phil Collins in the 1993 classic movie Groundhog Day waking up to the song each and every day. Click here for that clip on YouTube. With John Prine now one of the many really sick from COVID-19, I thought a song was a perfect vehicle for us (York staff are big music fans!) to reach out broadly to our clients and friends. Please know that I am enormously proud and thankful to have a extraordinary bunch of people on the York team. Our team is working hard to operate in this new “big ole goofy” normal. We are very active in real-time talking with clients about projects to ensure good communication. Please over communicate with us and stay well! We are all on the same ship.
A special shout-out to sharp, witty and sweet Shanna Bonaparte (pictured above) on her 12-year York Labs anniversary. We, clients included, are lucky to have Shanna on the York team.Be well friends.Keep on talking (and listening)!Peace,MichaelContact: M. 845-598-6320
